The Meaning of Christmas

10 Nehemiah said, "Go and enjoy choice of food and sweet drinks, and send some to those who have nothing prepared.  This day is holy to our Lord.  Do not grieve, for the joy of the LORD is your strength." Nehemiah 8:10

WOW, if there ever was a Christmas message this is it. Christmas is a holy day, one in which we share with others in many ways. I had the privilege of delivering boxes of food and a frozen chicken to several families today, courtesy of the local Kiwanis Club and Brookshire's grocery stores. The appreciation given for the gifts was enormous. It is definitely more blessed to give than to receive.

The true meaning of Christmas can be lost among the many presents that are given. It is a good idea to read the story located in the Bible at: Matthew 1: 18-25; Matthew 2:1-12; Luke 1:26-38;
Luke 2:1- 20.

A familiar Christmas song tells the true meaning.

Behold I Bring You tidings
Tidings of great joy
The world has found it's answer
In a child that's born on this night

Remember that Christmas is about the birth of Christ.

So have a VERY Merry Christmas and spread a little joy around.
